Colorado does an exceptional job at spoiling couples with options when it comes to choosing a breathtaking setting for their elopement. The Observatory at Alta Lakes in Telluride, Colorado is one such location, and it’s where today’s lovely elopement takes place. Sarah and Trevor chose to celebrate their love at this romantic cabin and the epic landscape that surrounds it, and it couldn’t have been a better fit for them. These two are ALL about adventure. They met through taking the same CrossFit class, shared their first date on a run called the Monster Dash, and love to go mountain biking together, so suffice to say they were beyond excited to explore the incredible mountains of Telluride, Colorado!
To start the day off, both Sarah and Trevor got ready for their elopement in the comfort of The Observatory at Alta Lakes. The Observatory is one of my favorite options for couples looking to celebrate their elopement or intimate wedding in Colorado. The rustic and cozy cabin acted as the perfect getting ready space for both Sarah and Trevor, and with it being at the base of Silver Mountain their adventure began as soon as they stepped out the front door!
Amidst the jaw dropping beauty of the Telluride landscape, Sarah and Trevor kicked off their elopement celebrations with a first look. This special moment was the perfect showcase of the deep connection these two share. Both Sarah and Trevor were legitimately radiant, I mean just LOOK at those smiles! This joy would carry on throughout the entire day, and it was made all the more magical thanks to the astounding setting we got to explore.
Throughout our adventures it was clear that both Sarah and Trevor were having the best day of their lives. Our exploration led us to scenic mountaintops, deep evergreen forests, and picturesque lakes which all made for a beautiful array of portrait photos. Through it all Sarah and Trevor were smiling and laughing non stop! The adventure culminated with the two sharing their vows next to one of the Alta Lakes. They fittingly played rock, paper, scissors to decide who would go first, and proceeded to have one of the most moving moments of the entire day. After signing their marriage license, we made our way back to The Observatory for the finale of their elopement in Telluride. To cap off their incredible day, Sarah and Trevor had a lovely candlelit picnic followed by the most amazing sunset portraits.
There’s no shortage of adventure to experience if you decide to elope in Colorado! Sarah and Trevor’s time in Colorado is a prime example of this. The two not only crafted a beautiful elopement day in Telluride, but they also made the remainder of their trip into their honeymoon! They brought their mountain bikes ALL the way from Minnesota, and proceeded to enjoy the last remaining days of Summer here in Colorado to celebrate their elopement.
